Nominations

• The tagset will be available here. An AO3 account is required.


• Each participant may nominate up to 20 relationships (this is the maximum possible on AO3). These should be nominated under Crossover Ships only.


• Relationships can be & (gen/platonic) or / (romantic/sexual).


• Each relationship must contain characters from at least two separate fandoms.



• Threesomes and more are also eligible, provided they involve at least two separate fandoms.



• All nominations must be in the format Character 1 (Fandom X)/Character 2 (Fandom Y), e.g. Tony Stark (MCU)/Bruce Wayne (DCEU). Please include the fandom for every character - this is important!



• All characters within nominated tags should be in alphabetical order by surname.



• It is helpful to be specific if you want a specific version of a character. If you nominate a ship involving something like Diana (Wonder Woman) it is entirely up to the giver if they want to write you the 70s movie, the 70s TV show, any of the comics titled Wonder Woman or the live action movie. If you wanted something like the movie version in particular you should use e.g. Diana (DCEU).



• When it comes to fandoms that share the same universe, you may nominate characters from different parts as a crossover as long as they weren’t primary characters together. e.g. Worf/Sisko is not allowed but Sisko/Janeway is.



• Due to the nature of the exchange, Original Works are not eligible.



• While original works are not allowed, you may nominate original characters in established universes. For example you could nominate Original Sailor Senshi (Sailor Moon)/Original Slayer (Buffy The Vampire Slayer).



• Most RPF is eligible. All characters must be famous in their own right. No under-18s for modern RPF. No modern politics RPF.

Signups:

• Signups will be here. An AO3 account is required.



• You can request 3-200 relationships with a choice of fiction, art, or either.



• You can offer 3-200 relationships and a choice of fiction, art, or either.



• If no offers match your requests, your requests will go out for claiming as an initial pinch hit. Please bear in mind that as this is a flash round that you are not guranteed a gift.



• If no requests match your offers, the mods will delete you.



• There is a title section. What is it for? It is a mystery.



• Please include anything you absolutely don't want to receive (Do Not Wants) in the DNW field in your AO3 signup. In the event that a DNW is included in your gift, only reasonable DNWs noted in your signup will be enforced. Only DNWs go here.



• If you sign up with more than one account, please bear in mind you will be expected to produce at least one fanwork per signup. Please sock responsibly! There is no limit to socks that are well behaved. Socks known to have a history of bad behavior will be deleted.

Assignments:

• Assignments are only guaranteed to match on one relationship and one medium.



• Minimum requirements are 300 words or a nice sketch, involving a requested relationship/medium combination. Art should be original work created entirely by you; icons, manips, etc. cannot fulfil art requests. No lined paper.



• Please do not discuss your assignment in public; creators should remain anonymous until creator reveals. Do, however, feel free to discuss with a beta reader.



• If your assignment does not match any of the the fandoms/ships/AUs/media you offered, contact the mods as soon as possible. It will not be possible to change assignments for any other reason.

Posting:

• To post your fic/art on AO3: navigate to your AO3 dashboard, click on 'Assignments', find your X-Ship Flash assignment and click 'Post to fulfil'.



• Works containing excessive spelling or grammar errors (enough to hinder comprehension) will not be accepted.



• Due to the collection's anonymous period, do not post your work elsewhere before creator reveals.



• You can edit your work after posting it, but your gift must be complete enough to stand as it is by the assignment deadline.



• Saved drafts do not fulfil assignments. Please ensure that you post your gift!



• We will allow a discrete signature on artwork

Defaulting:

• If you cannot complete your assignment, please default. No extensions will be offered.



• To default: navigate to your AO3 dashboard, click 'Assignments', locate your X-Ship Flash assignment and click 'Default'.



• If you default and your creator also defaults, you will not be assigned a pinch hitter.



• There is no penalty for defaulting before the deadline.



• If you have not posted a gift by the deadline, the mods will default you. You will need to post a full gift for any request in the exchange (excluding your own) before you will be permitted to participate in any further rounds.

Pinch hits:

• Pinch hits will be posted to the Dreamwidth community.



• Please reply to the pinch hit post to claim, including your AO3 username; if you are successful, the mods will contact you and officially assign the pinch hit to you through AO3.



• You can claim a pinch hit even if you aren't signed up for the exchange, but you will need an AO3 account.

Treats:

• You can write/draw additional gifts for other participants and post them to the exchange collection as treats. You will need an AO3 account to post to the collection.



• To post a treat: navigate to the collection and click 'Post to Collection'. You will need to manually add the name of your intended recipient - please check this carefully!



• Treats do not have to fulfill the minimum requirements.



• You are welcome to post treats even if you aren't signed up for the exchange.



• Treats will not become main gifts for this exchange.

Question.

It looks like Deadpool is going to be brought into/count as part of the MCU. Before he was not. He hasn't appeared in anything MCU though. Can we nominate him with MCU characters still? For example: Clint Barton (MCU) & Wade Wilson (Deadpool movies).

We are still considering Deadpool part of the same universe as the X-Men movies, as that is what has been shown on screen.
